You can capture the screen content to the clipboard by using the PrtScn key on your keyboard. Then paste the clipboard into your image editor (Ctrl-V).

Could we see DMDE's Partitions window?

Sorry I'll do that next time. I normally write to this forum via phone. I'm not very familiar with DMDE,and I didn't let it complete scan, it was gonna take hours. How do I get that information for you?

When DMDE launches, select your physical drive, tick the "Show partitions" checkbox, and click OK. You will then see the Partitions window. Now hit the PrtScn button, open your image editor, and hit Ctrl-V.

I believe you're on to something. DMDE shows the file system to be in HFS+ format which I believe is Mac OS and possibly why its displaying the way it is on my Windows computer. I'm using an HFSExplorer program to extract the files ATM.

I know nothing about HFS, but if you double-click the "Lamphone's" volume, and then expand the Root, can you see your files/folders?

Maybe your friend have something installed on Windows like MacDrive that will allow to see MAC formatted drives on Windows and interact with them ?

Because you don't have the same kind of stuff installed you will not be able to open that drive under windows.

If you replace the bridge and if the drive is working now you can return the drive to the owner and tell him/her to copy the files using the same system / MAC / whatever that was used in the past.[/quote]

I don't think he had MacDrive installed, he knows nothing about this stuff, still not sure how he was able to read the HDD on his Windows without the presence of a special software. He let me use the mac that the HDD was initialized with, but it was toast as well and wouldnt even turn on, i wasnt going to try to work on it aswell.

@Fzabkar
Yes I was able to see the files, I could see them when It scanned but using the free version my recovery size was Cap'd. I used HFSExplorer and was able to extract everything off the HDD to a backup. Although this isn't my HDD, I Thank you on behalf of my friend. I also thank you for all for your time and patience in teaching me and helping me understand, i have learned a lot. Keep spreading your wisdom, as knowledge is power shared!

Anyway to mark this as Solved? Would be a simple, helpful feature for this site if not.
