Hello,
hard disk with following details
Model WD800JD-00JNA0
DCM=HSB
PCB=2060-001293-000
pcb is damaged, i replaced u12 chip but its showing following hdd

WDC-ROM SN#XYZ ---
WDC ROM MODEL --SABRE--
74 GB

Any suggestion?

no clicking I have manually assign SPT & read service area all module OK .module 11 show micro code (05BWC ) i have try a same microcode ROM but different model. HDD detect full capacity & model but scanning show all sector are red.

Is there a faint sound during calibration then continuous spinning?

I would say PCB/ROM is not native.

By the way this is a Marvell drive but NOT ROYL.

Maybe you have adaptive (ROM) problem ? Like someone swapped the PCB already so you don't have native ROM modules ?
