High speed software won't help, as the speed of retiring bad sectors (not repairing, which is not possible) is mostly relegated to the speed of the drive itself.

You can look into MHDD in the software section here on the forum.

Most important is why do you want to do this with degraded drives?

If it is for refurbishing and then selling them to regular people for use, then it is not a sustainable business. Some quick small money, but not a money maker. Plus, it comes with some moral taxation in the sense of selling people a poor product.

If it is for data recovery parts, then that is cool. If this is the case, then retiring the sectors could potentially cause more damage. Therefore, it is advisable to get proper tools and make firmware modification rather to prevent data access.

Made my day ! :D

What is the maximum capacity of the device ?
Are the wheels compliant with European norms ?
It sure seems to be a reliable and versatile piece of equipment, everyone should have one, whoever invented this is likely to make a fortune...
(Fact : in France it's called a “poubelle”, from the name of Eugène Poubelle, préfet de Seine, who made it mandatory near the end of 19th century in order to improve hygiene in Paris.)

On a more serious note : there seems to be no easy way of directly locating and accessing bad sectors, even when they have been already identified by the SMART status. Apparently pro tools have that capacity, but why isn't it available in regular surveillance software for storage devices, even quite advanced ones like HD Sentinel ? That would be very helpful to locate and isolate the affected files.
