Help with Partial Sector Accessibility Problem.

March 23rd, 2018, 15:38

Hi friends, i need help in this case.

HDD Model: ST3500418AS, Family Pharaoh, FW CC38.

I need to recover data. Hdd came undetected in BSY state. When connected to terminal gave “No HOST FIS-ReadyStatusFlags...” error.

Thinking in translator issue i thinked to regen translator, but first went to NRG-list with V40 terminal command and 3-4 entries appeared. And here became my second fatal error (my first big fatal error was to not make a backup of critical Sys Files), i cleared NRG list with Sediv and regened translator with m0,2,2,,,,,22,

After that hdd is ready but became in partial access problem, because after lba 63301568 to the end can not be accessed.

Now i backed up all modules.

My plan is add deleted entries to nrg-list again and then use m0,6,3,,,,,22.

As i don´t know the value of entries i deleted, for determinig the entries values i used Sediv or Victoria logical scan and see that lba 63301568 is the first unc value. After that lba to the last lba of hdd gives unc or timeout error.

Sediv Allows add entries to nrg-list by the following way:

ADD TO NRGLIST.jpg

But here I have two doubts:

1- Lba value is in decimal or hexadecimal?
2- What flag i need to select (0, LNK, PFMT, DSP, PFP, b4, RGD, b6, b7, All)?

I probed to add lba 63301568 to nrg-list using decimal value and flag 0, then used m0,6,3,,,,,22, but now logical scan stucks about lba 61 000 000.

What's next?

thanks in advanced,
best regards,
Oleg

Only information I found was more a "hands-on". But as you did a lot of things through terminal, and I understand you will not be sending this drive to someone in another country, maybe this links could be of some help :

Nice to know it worked.

I think I have some disks here in that state, waiting for a day with time enough to try that procedure..

Thank you very much for info..

I execute m0, command at some 7200.12 drive at past. Some disk is out of duty.
i don't need data but i want to resurrect them with data.

and a client do this..

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=35452

he deleted NRG list. Most of Sector's visible now.
But last 300 gigs. and first one sector can't readable..

because of all of MFT can't readable data is invisible..

i think because of partial access we think there are many bad sectors.

i will try "Leonardo" at that disk. He wants his movies. at least "once upon a time"..
