Hello fellow data geeks,
I'm new here and would like some insights on my WD30EFRX 3 TB Red HDD that got internally shorted by a faulty PSU/MB.
My board is the 2060-771945-002 REV A (Reference picture, not mine) :
Here's my actual SATA power section that I tried to test out the TVS diodes on as well as some resistors :
So I've run continuity test on the following components with an analog multimeter (All I have) so here's the results so far :
D1 = 0 Ω (Open Circuit?)
D2 = 20k Ω
D3 = 0 Ω (Open Circuit?)
D4 = 20k Ω
R43 =1.8k Ω
R60 = 0 Ω (Open Circuit?)
R83 = Nothing changes on MM
R92 = 0 Ω (Open Circuit?)
R93 = 0 Ω (Open Circuit?)
I'd like to know where are the zero-ohm link resistor(s) on this board as well & which ones are the 5-12V TVS diodes which D1-3 looks shorted.
I should obviously invest in a cheap digital multimeter for further more precise testing of this board.
Any input is appreciated on how to DIY fix this board for a spin-up transfer on a USB-SATA Controller.
Best regards,
-Julien
