ST2000DM001's PCB burnt itself

April 19th, 2018, 9:35

st2000dm001 9yn164-500 cc4b

I wanted to back up my data. I plugged the power. and this occurs.

I used to identical PCB. Everything is the same except the serial number.( swapping chip already). but it is useless.

Now i lost the flash chip. :?

If you lost ( don´t know where it is ) the flash chip, then game over. No cheap solution.

If you still have the flash chip, why do you believe it is damaged ? Try reading it in an external programmer.

I think he's referring to this IC, which is not the BIOS.

i know that is not flash chip..

but it needs donor PCB.
identical PCB can't solve problem.

at the end i lost the flash chip at my home.

after all I'm afraid to change seagate PCB.

7200.14 series is a troublemaker.

I understand he doesn´t have the chip anymore. If that is so, then no use to keep insisting with this hard disk. He can store it in some place in the case he founds the chip on the floor later.

Very sad indeed, for the poor customers :-(

I bet they won’t find out WHY they haven’t got their data back, they’ll be told some pack of lies no doubt
