Hi all members, im new to MHDD and hope you guys can help me on my questions. Thank You Very Much.

We are trading in harddisks and uses MHDD to do harddisk scans to see whether they are good. my questions are

1) After i scan the drives, it turns out all to be in GREY Color, does it mean that the drive is in good health?

2) How do i know whether a drive is good?

3) After i scan, if there are say 200 of GREEN Color, is this good or no good?

4) When there are "W", does it mean it has bad sectors?

5) Whats G-Lists and P-list?

Once again, thank you for your help.

I will try,
1- to this - Read the MHDD manual
2- to this - you will more then read the MHDD manual
3- to this - Read the MHDD manual
4- to this - Read the MHDD manual
5- to this - you need to learn a little bit about ATA commands.

And for this - NO CHARGE

1) Ok. My meaning of this is if all the colors show grey, is it CONFIRMED that the drive is in good health?

3) i do not see anything in the manual explaining whether if drives have a lot of green colors, its good or bad.

4) In the manual, i dont see anything stating abt "w".... Let me know if you can find that in the manual.

5) i will take note.

If you have the latest version , and if at least have a small knowledge about hard disks, you could realize that each colors has a number related, so this numbers means the speed of the reaponse of the hard disk, so if the hard disk take more time to answer a data request (ATA specification ) this means that it has a problem.
So you still need to read about ATA COMMAND, all that you need ( I supose ) is there.
The w - I think that when you press the F4, you will see a menu, and I think that you can see in it an option called ERASE WAITS, and this is the "w".
Look here in the posts , you will find something about what means "erase waits". Also you can realize what means erase ?, and waits ?
Don't take notes, also do not give any atention about what I wrote, after your last answer, I change my position and I really think that the best thing to you is - GOOGLE; and keep looking you will find.
