Safer aproach would be to replace the drive and if possible DON'T BUY SEAGATE !!!

Spildit wrote:What i'm saying is that the drive did found some bad sectors that it couldn't re-use and swapped those by spares meaning that now you do have entries on the G-List.
If you clear S.M.A.R.T. the Re-Located sector count will not change as you will still have entries on the G-List so S.M.A.R.T. will still display as "BAD".
You could move G to P but most likely the drive will die very shortly anyway so it's better to replace it now.

mhdd scan will see if it helps.
It won't help.
Reallocated_Sector_Ct is the "problem" so if you run Secure Erase and/or MHDD the value will not decrease, if you have bad blocks it will only increase !
Also if you run security erase all data will be gone !
The only way for you to make the Reallocated_Sector_Ct value "decrease" or re-set to zero is by clearing the G-List or moving the G-List to the P-List and re-format all sectors to correct the ecc for the new "translation" if you add defects to P.

Clearing S.M.A.R.T. will NOT re-set the G-List !!!!
This can't even be considered a refurbished or even a cosmetic fixed drive.
You should move G to P and re-format all sectors several times to make sure that you can read/write to all sectors without any new addition to G-List !

Buy some firmware tools like SeDiv and use the automatic function to do what you intend. It's the easy way.
