WD Elements SE 25FE (WD10SMZW) spike in last ~40GB

Can anyone offer an explanation for this result?

Looks like it starts 40GB into the physical drive and wraps back around at the end.

Is this an artifact of some kind of feature like Seagate's MediaCache? (I know a MediaCache drive doesn't produce a graph white like this)

I have two of these drives and they both look exactly the same. First noticed it while transferring files in Windows.

This drive uses SSD-like translation
In areas where is no data written at all drive wouldn't try to access media but would return binary zeros instead, thus resulting in increase of transfer speed
