Ehh, on modern drives, drives with larger media cache size applies to SSHD only. Larger media cache can improve drives' performance, but it makes no sense to make media cache up to 90GB; Cuz media cache of SSHD is stored in its SSD chip, the capacity of these chips can be found directly from manufactures' specifications; If the capacity of the chip can be up to 90GB, definitely it contradicts with commercial principles.

From above view, Ace said media cache can up to 90GB, I will take a sceptical eye on it.

If you "blindly" format the translator the data on the media cache will be gone, so if it's indeed 90GB will will loose the last 90GB of data that was used and present on MC ...

Why do you think that the media cache does apply only to SSHD drives ? This is NOT TRUE. Standard modern Seagate drives even if they don't have NAND chips and are not Hybrid drives they do have/use MC....

The most important are sys file of 28 and 35, and if you can not backup modules due to bad sectors, you can also try to read via ABA method; if still not, please ask Jesus for help :)

So if I will give you rosewood with cleared SA and 28 and 35 from it - you will able to get access to all user files, right?

We are not near, if yes, I can try :D

Luckly, I have done some cases successfully, and yesterday, I fixed a customer case with sys 28 only;

Translator issue is complicated, there is no must success solution, but with backups, at least we restore to original status for future attempt.
