I actually did try the C2 heads (since the servo rev of that one matched) and it didn't work either. As I said before, all heads work perfectly back in their original drives. So obviously there is no problem with my head replacing process. Your comment is just nonsense!
I'd never waste my hard earned money on those worthless overpriced tools. Apex tools are working great, I've now done around 20 rosewood head swaps and haven't ruined a set of heads that way yet. The issue with this case is 100% related to heads compatibility. If you'd actually read any of my posts you'd have figured that out.

ddrecovery wrote:From my understanding servo data is written to the platters with the heads in place (unless it has changed since someone explained this). So I can presume it is possible for the way/type of servo data to change which may not be read with different heads. I am not 100% certain of this so would appreciate your input.

Many people do not want to be named on forums. If they have a signature like we do, then they do not care if they are named. But others have many reasons not to want to be named. They may work for large DR company and it might be against company policy to go onto forums to help others out, so naming them might get them fired. Others might not offer advice if they know who the OP works for etc. So its generally bad form to name people and companies on forums.
Just sayin......
