I transfer by copying all the data from the drive a to b.

Then I formatted the drive a.

Now I'm trying to copy all the data from c to a.

When I drag and drop the files it says;

"Discovered ... Items"

"Preparing to Copy From C to A"

by calculating something.

But the screen closes and nothing happens.

How to fix that?

Note : I tried to copy files from the drive c to desktop. The drive C is alright.
But after format the drive A doesn't work as you can see.

Have you tried to copy the same files ( exactly ) from the "drive c" to the desktop ?

Also, what is the size of the drives involved ?

That's one of the reasons I never trust drag-and-drop to copy data. Sometimes it just creates shortcuts to the original files, and if you delete the originals, you are left with just shortcuts that point to files that no longer exist -- not copies of the original data. Not saying that's the case here, but something to check.

Yes, also size of the selected bunch, and if the disk has some problem.

Also, he doesn´t say if he can copy just one file to the new disk.

I found the reason. The problem is the drive has bad sectors.

I made Seatools test and It got "Fail"

I tried to copy the folders one by one. Although 2 folders I could transfer all of the files.
