Hello all:
This is my first message in this wonderful forum. I write from Spain.
I have problems with a
2.5" Seagate Momentus Hard disk. The data for the hard disk:
- Seagate momentus 5400.6 of 500 GB
- Model ST9500325AS
- FW: 0002BSM1
The disk was inside of a case
Freecom Mobile Drive Classic II. It was not detected in Device Management of Windows 7 Professional, no detected in the Disk Management of Windows, no detected using diagnostic HDD software (HDD Scan, HDD Renerator, Hard Disk Sentinel). Not detected booting the PC with a Live CD (Hirens). I used two different USB wire (one of the Y USB wire), two different data SATA wire, I used differente USB ports.
I removed the disk from the case and repeat all the previous test using an USB/SATA adapter and a PSU to power on. Nothing detecting the hard disk. I inserted the hard disk within a laptop and boot it. BIOS didn't detect the disk.
The PCB has no evidence of burnt SMD components. The disk vibrate so the motor spin up. No clic noise, No suspect noise. I use a multimeter and no clear problem detected in SMD components or conector pins.
I read a similar topic in your forum:
https://forum.hddguru.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=31393&p=218172&hilit=seagate+momentus+ttl#p218172And the use of a
TTL adapter is recommended to determine the possible nature and cause of the problem. In Amazon I see:
https://www.amazon.es/WINGONEER%C2%AE-CP2104-convertidor-M%C3%B3dulo-compatible/dp/B01CYBHM26/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1534963523&sr=8-5&keywords=usb+ttlIs this a valid TTL adapter ??
If you need some picture of the PCB or the disk, please tell me.
Thanks for your time.
