I'm not sure if this is the proper forum for this question. If not, please let me know where I should post it. I have an old Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM SATA hard drive that I removed from my previous computer when it died. I want to connect it to my current computer to run DBAN on it so I bought a SATA to USB cable. This allows Windows 10 to recognize the drive, but it is apparently sees it as a removable media drive because any time I try to open it up to check the contents, it tells me to "Please insert a disk into USB drive". The drive has a 4-pin port for a jumper but there was none installed. How can I get Windows to see it as a hard drive and allow me to view the contents and erase it?
