Is there a way to remove the TLER of the WD Red NAS drives to convert them to a consumer drive ?

In your post it says it can dammage newer drives but there is no cut of date or drive model compatibility mentioned any where I can find.
The drives are wd10efrx drives

You can change the TLER setting from the Error Recovery Control (ERC) menu in HDAT2. However these changes will not survive a power cycle.
