HGST 500GB SED Hard Drive (HTS725050A7E635) not detectable

October 4th, 2018, 12:38

Hi there!
I have a new case that makes me some headache.
The drive (HTS725050A7E635) is spins up normally, no any strange noise, heads are moving to platter, and goes ready as any normal drive do.
..but in normal mode Sediv, Atola, and even MRT cant recognise it. With tech mode in MRT the drive identifiable, but it does not have capacity (0 GB)
There are no SA access:
Selected family:7250A7

Model:HGST HTS725050A7E635

Technology key : ....................................Error
Probing Technology Key......
Tech-Key detection : ................................OK

Reading module list failed,try Copy1......
Read module list : ..................................Error

Read open module list : .............................Error

get the head number : ...............................02

I have read out NvRAM, and ROM, and they are looks good (compared to HTS725050A7E630 drives resources)
From RAM i can read only MFGP, RPSH, and USAG modules.

I tried this drive in my HP Elitebook (i guess it's maybe password protected), but it's not suprise, not detected.

Has anyone a tip for next step that i can do? Unfortunatelly i dont have donor HSA on stock.

Is it possible that the drive is TPM chip locked, and thats why it is not visible (not recognisable) by BIOS?
