Recovering of an old Caviar 2850 Drive

November 4th, 2018, 9:10

Hey Guys,

currently I have a little Problem with a drive. The main problem is, that this drive belongs not to a customer but to the father of a friend of mine. The drive itself is an old Caviar 2850 Drive with 850MB.

When I power up the drive, it initialises and I have no bad sounds from the drive. But when I'm trying to read it (Sector Edit in PC-3000), I got errors.

My Idea is, that I'm trying to access the data with LBA but the drive just speaks CHS. Can it be? And if yes, what can I do to get the data?
