Whole Drive Corrupted

November 7th, 2018, 12:15

Customer has given me an external 2.5" Drive that loads ok, doesn't show any errors and I can see the file structure ok. The data takes about 20gb of a 1tb drive. However, although the files are showing ok everyone is corrupted and won't open.

I've imaged the disk but I can't access the files (mainly doc's and pdf's). They all say they are corrupted.

Is there any way of recovering any of the files or are they gone for good?

By any chance had the drive been worked on by someone else?

Sounds like somebody could have run software recovery on it and “recovered” the data straight back to the same drive, corrupting it all in the process :-(
