Hello Members,

I have this 2.5" hdd within a usb closure , inside it's a WD Scorpio black drive 500GB , it had suddenly making some clicking noise and no reading at all.
I decided to open it up to try recover it mechanical issues(i knew the risk here, nothing to lose)
and saw the head are stuck on the first 1/3 section of the platters,
Made mistake taking the heads outside and heads were damaged/ broke.
Can anyone suggest if repair possible by myself?

The only solution is to do a head swap.
But if you don't need the data (since you have opened it and took that risk) why bother doing a head swap?
Maybe also platter damage and without proper tools to deal with other stuff (like fw problem or even head control to image the drive), it's better to put it on the recycle bin.

Then consult a pro!!
Be prepared to pay 2 or 3 times the usual cost due to the potential damage you have caused.

Ok, got the idea that it might be heavily costy, or unrecoverable data.

Thanks guys :-)
