Hello!

So I was fresh installing windows and I accidentally typed "clean" on a drive that I had important stuff in. I have tried some tools such as EaseUS, but none have worked so far.

I am currently using TestDisk, and the normal method of recovering a partition doesn't work. (That is, selecting INTEL and scanning for partitions)

Quick and Deep scans do not find my partition.

I did find that when I select GPT from the list, it says "bad GPT partition, invalid signature." However, scanning with this option also did not give any results.

The disk is currently connected via SATA, and I have not formatted it. It shows up as Unallocated and Online in Windows Disk Management.

Could anyone help me with this? I would appreciate it a lot!

Did you use "clean" or "clean all"? The latter zero fills every sector.

Is the drive an SSD? If so, then your data may have been TRIM-ed.

Thank you for the quick reply!

I used "Clean". Then realized I made a mistake, and attempted to recover the data with my laptop.

I did use an SSD, does that mean all of my data is gone?

I have also opened the drive with WinHex, and found that it has blocks of zeroes at the start and at the end, but in the middle there is a lot of hex code. I read that this means that there is still data on the drive. If yes, do you know what I could do to recover it?

I suggest you clone your drive so that you can preserve its current state. Then run data recovery software against the clone.

Will do. Any recommendations on what software I should use afterwards?
