I am trying to enter safe mode in hitachi and it tells me to connect a jumper, but I have no idea what jumper it is.
I have zeroed the head of the OVR0 module and now the disk clicks continuously.
Is there any way for the HDD to read the F copy of the HDD and not read the 0 and 1 copies?

If by HITACHI you mean IBM native drives ...

http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=118&t=1440

Also on IBM/Hitachi/HGST if you plug PCB ONLY you will get DRDY/DSC and you can patch NVRam to block SA access (same method to remove ATA password) ....

The HDD model is HTS5432xxL9.
I have made a bridge in the reading channel and it does not click, but I do not know which modules to load in order to re-record the modules.

Thanks for answering.

Most likely you will not need to load anything as long as you have a valid module directory .... On SeDiv for example you can load to the software a "module map" so that the tool knows the address to where it should WRITE modules ... As long as you have a working PCB + correct NVRam + ROM most likely on your model you should be able to write to the PBA as long as you know where to write and what to write ...

Should be "easy" to do even by hand with HRT ATA terminal as long as you know the correct VSCs + Super On for your drive + you have a valid module directory backup ...

Tomorrow I will try.
I changed the boot flag in NVRAM and in principle I should not click, but it does.
Tomorrow I will see why he does not write anything, I hope it is not a failure of the MRTLAB when loading the LDR.

Greetings.

I am studying the Hitachi HDD and I have some doubts.
Can the modules not be saved in safe mode?
With the firmware that is stored in the ROM is it capable of writing modules in the SA?

I guess it will depend on drive model ? At least on older arch M24 you should be able to read/write SA just fine even if you boot from safe mode / SA blocked ....

Wait even on modern ARM you do block SA access to patch security module to unlock ATA password so yes, drive should read/write SA even if booted from safe mode / sa blocked.

Send it to my address and i will fix it for you !

https://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-Hitachi-HG ... 2683540711

Most likely you will not find cheaper on the market.

These HDD are only for testing I do not need the data, but I have already broken 2 units (firmware break).
I have to try to work with the HITACHI, but I think that with MRTLAB I have it quite raw.
I am loading modules in the memory but it does not help me at all. When I find a solution I will put it.

So far the only thing I have achieved is:
if I change the head map from 00 01 to 01 01 it does not load the copy 0 and the HDD is not recognized but it is able to write modules in copy 1 of the SA.
You may have to modify the RAM to write to copy 0.

In your opinion, what tool do you see advisable for hitachi?
If I can not restore the SA of HITACHI with the MRTLAB having a perfect copy of the whole SA, I think that the MRTLAB will be of little use to me for the HITACHI.

For IBM/Hitachi/HGST you should :

1 - Have PC-3000.

2 - If you can't buy PC-3000 you should try something like SeDiv.

3 - For OLDER IBM SeDiv will not help. You need something like HRT that is impossible to buy so you can try to get pirated PC-3000.

4 - MRT is junk for HGST and Samsung.

5 - For Samsung you can try SHTR if you don't have PC-3000. SeDiv is JUNK for Samsung and Fujitsu.

6 - SeDiv is very good for WD, Seagate ST-10, F3 Arch, Toshiba and HGST. It will NOT support all models in the market but it's good for the ones it does support.

7 - Maybe problem is with your method and NOT with the MRT tool ?

It is very possible that it is my method, but the SAT of MRTLAB has told me that it is very complicated and at the moment it has not given me a solution.

Thank you very much for all this information.

MRT guys couldn't even "fix" a simple "slow issue" on this thread ....

viewtopic.php?f=28&t=37857

Better forget about MRT tech support ...

If drives were ok and you did mess them with firmware tool and you do have full backup of all resources it shouldn't be THAT hard to fix unless the tools are not working ....

Uhhhm....

First the drive is not ARM so it should be even easier ....

I don't have any real "experience" with MRT but that thing doesn't look good at all ....

You power on the drive and those leds do flash on and off ? Crazy !!! It's the first time i see something like that. It's MRT problem for sure .... Even if you fu*** the firmware it shouldn't show register status like that !!!
