Hello,

I receive this drive for recovery.
On power on hear just sirene sound.
I measure motor pads on PCB and there is power on all four pads.
I try with another drive to simulate motor stuck to hear sound and is identical to patient.

Here is the question:
Is typical for this drives that motor stuck and how to unstuck it?
how is on this drives if you open the lid with alignment, and in case if I will need to move platters to donor drive.

Thank you

Thank you very much Spildit .

Regarding PCB: is PCB number enough or I need to put attention also on sticker.

Thank you

If there is a sticker on the board with a different PCB revision, match to that.

As far as the label on the top cover that shouldn't matter, these drives have an issue where they will "lock" the donor board if it is incompatible, make sure you transfer the firmware to the new board before installing it on the patient.

Old IBM drives have a lot of issues with burned PCB components, its possible you may have damage to spindle driver chip.
