WD My Passport Studio with Oxford Bridge

January 26th, 2019, 16:02

Hi,

Can anyone confirm if the Oxford chipset on this bridge from this 1TB WD My Passport Studio is uniquely encrypting the data on this drive like it happens on the My Book models?

Thanks in anticipation.

The bridge chip does support hardware encryption:

It definitely encrypts the data. Just not sure if it is unique to its own Oxford chip like it is with the Oxford based My Book models.
Hopefully, someone has already confirmed, if so.
