What happens when you put heads back in donor?

i think platter problem. sometimes your donor heads will not work now. if donor heads work with donor hard, just change the pcb.

In which case there are two explanations that spring to mind...

1. Your head swap didn't go well, it got messed up.
2. The drive has media damage on one or more of the platter surfaces.

Probably has a chance of partial recovery, if you know what you're doing.

if you used cleanroom and proper tools for head swapped, most of time platter has degrade problem, sometimes magnet dust on the platter. specially platter 0. so you have well experiance you can clean the platters. after cleaning platters don't use new donor heads for very first time. normally i have small collection of weak heads and use weak donor heads for 1st time and see results.

can you upload the ROM of both patient and donor, just to verify that heads are compatible in the first place ?
