hi,
this hdd gets recognised in the system, but doesnt read at all, if we try to scan usin normal recovery program, it shows the partition "NTFS", but while scanning it gives error and scans very slow. we need to recover the data. Can anybody advice.

Try the MHDD to determine what is the "state" of the hard disk media.
You will have some option in it that can help you in the dignoses of the hard disk
