1- patient PCB on donor drive working normally and heads start moving from parking area.
2- donor PCB on patient same behavior (spin up for 2 secs and spin down and heads not even move)
3- transferring ROM from patient to donor and vice versa makes the same behavior.
4- when converting the drive to SATA it makes the same behavior and ata registers shows ready.

I believe now that the problem either FW or heads or even both.

Has anyone had any experience with such case?

5- I have isolated head contacts and the drive makes the same behavior

According to step 2 and 3 , look like head or platter problem.
What tools are you using? Can you see modules? If H0 or H1 alive there is possible to get partial data. If both dead, necessary to swap head

It's Palmer and not supported yet to access FW.

I don't think it's a head/s problem, the drive spin up then spin down even with heads contacts isolated.

Thank you for your reply.

i think this hard drive has 2060-800069 pcb. and this hard drive main chip locked. i think you can't access firmware without specialize unlocked PCB.
also this kind of hard frequently suffering from bad sectors problem. sometimes heads are working fine. but Service area has huge bad sectors.
try to use donor heads. most of time heads are working with same model number. very easy to match and find them.you are lucky this has only head prob.

but get some info from other members of this forum.

That's true.

Dananjaya wrote:is this heads stuck on ramp?
spindle motor error ?

None of those.

Heads replaced and all data retrieved , but the good part that I have managed to fix the patient heads. :)
