Seagate F3 Hot Swap

May 17th, 2019, 3:59

I have a Seagate ST500DM002 drive.

It cannot start because of MCMTFileHandler: EXCEPTION: Failed MCMT read request error.

Basically it has bad sectors in both copies of 346 sys file.

The only way i think i could start this drive is by hot swap.

Problem is i've never done it on f3 and need some advice from someone who knows better how it works.

According to https://www.dolphindatalab.com/seagate- ... solutions/ and http://en.mrtlab.com/pdf/MRT%20Data%20R ... .34.57.pdf it should be possible.

If anyone could help me i'd be grateful.

Thanks.
