But something like a HGST and put that thing on the garbage can ?

Maybe your S.M.A.R.T. "error" is caused for example by bad sectors that will affect the re-located sector count and pendings ector count and that can't be cleared by re-setting S.M.A.R.T. ... etc etc ....

Clearing S.M.A.R.T. will not fix the drive.

Thanks for share.yes, there are 79 error records on the surface of the record. The MHDD scan is normal but cannot be cleared, and the way to add defects is different from the common F3 family by PC3000 express

You would need to move G-List to P-List and re-format or clear G-List assuming the "errors" are re-located sectors or pending sectors and even so the drive is junk ...

http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2521

Buy new drive and if possible buy HGST drive or older Samsung (1TB Spinpoint or 500 GB). Those used to be very reliable. If you want bigger try HGST but don't buy modern He drives. The less capacity you can buy the better. The higher the capacity the more un-reliable will be the drive. Avoid modern drives. Modern drives are not yet very known and firmware tools will not support them if you need later to recover data. New is bad, the same as in computer security. Old and proved to be reliable is way better than new that no-one knows if it will be reliable or not.
