Hello,
Thanks everyone who responded to the post .This is the challenge i am facing
Background : I received this drive from the client without a PCB .The drive was also opened by the client .Upon Opening and inspection i saw that it has 3 platters and 6 heads physically .I replaced the heads with the same 6 heads HSA .So the challenge was now to find PCB for this and adapt the rom ,This is what i did ...
Work I Did :I used a ROM + Loader From a donor and read the tracks from the hdd and searched for the modules and figured out that Module 01 is at ABA address No 330439 .Because if you follow this ACELAB tutorial you can never get a drive operational as adapted rom will only work if Regions "RGN " Start and Size and Mod 01 ABA address match .This is acelab Rom generation link ->
http://blog.acelaboratory.com/pc-3000-f ... l-rom.html . I also figured out that The original ROM my patient is 0001004Q as My MOD 11 had 0001004R code and rom in diablo 3S is always 1 alphabet less then last character in Mod 11 .So if Mod 11 is 0001004R ROM will be 0001004Q .After this i changed the ABA for mod 01 to " 330439 " .But now i have no idea what heads to enable and which to disable and also i am not sure of RGN's Address and Region Size .Sometimes i see only two RGN's in NN Section and Sometimes in some ROM's 4 RGN's .Some of the donor resources i have for 0001004Q have heads 0,1 4,5 enabled though i have 6 heads physically .Now i am using ROM version 0001004Q And changed the ABA Mod 01 Addresses to the one i told before And i have head 00,01,04,05 Enabled and i have Full drive detection but no sector access .Possible i have selected wrong heads in headmap and not getting sector access i have gone out of ideas .It the diablo and might be this too has that " Media Cache Data Removal " issue i discussed couple of months back "were i was told i do not know what data recovery is all about " and Acelab is not naming a function clearly or does not know anything about it ,Cos i doubt thats the story .
Question : Is there a way to figure out from Modules and Tracks what heads were actually enabled in this hdd as i have full SA access and no module is defective .
