ST500LM000 NAND FAILURE?

Have an ST500LM000 (firmware DEMD) that went into busy state after a power failure. In terminal it reads ERROR: Flash LED 9C1C - No clumps available - cannot get new active clump. (see attached txt for full terminal read out). From what I gather this is likely a NAND failure. The drive does spin up and sounds fine. This unit came from a Dell Optiplex which had two identical drives (sadly not raided), and the other drive is fine, so I do have a matching donor PCB. There's a post on Ace labs forum that suggests the following solution: "use donor PCB with same FW revision and swap ROM to it, then 'flush' NAND content to force reloading of patient adaptive data back into donor NAND". Any way to do this from terminal without PC-3000?

Hmm, appears I've been down this road before with a similar model. I'm going to try fzabkar's suggestions from this previous thread to secure erase a donor and then try a ROM swap.

actually that was not necessary. I secure erased the donor drive, then swapped the ROM chip, and had immediate access to the data, no terminal commands required.
