Hello Friends
Wishing you all a very happy 2020.

I have a tough case of seagate "ST500LT012-1DG142-1003YAM1-WBYABHQ9 "
Disk gets normal detection I can copy data using Head 0 (entire volume imaged successfully with only few defects) .However imaging head 1 was too slow with read errors. There is no visible scratches ,degradation visible even under microscope. We have more than 30 donors available & some of them are 100% compatible and healthy. We have successfully transplanted heads but that is not improving errors .If donor heads put in back they work fine that means they are not damaged in patient.
What could be the issue ? I have read in many posts terminal "FAIL Servo Op=0100 Resp=0007" indicates head crash or platter degradation.
In this case both are ruled out as we have tried no. of heads without success.
Can some seagate guru gives precise technical issue and remedial measure ?
here is terminal post head transplant ( terminal report before transplant is in firmware backup attached here)
Boot 0x10M
FAIL Servo Op=0100 Resp=0007
ResponseFrame 0D21 3C64 FFFF 0000 0000 D922 0000 FF90 0000 0001 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 7B3D 2896 79BC 2D81 801F 6488 EC4E 907C DBB3 711F 11AF 79DE 87F4 4F23 7AD6 4EAF 0000
FAIL Servo Op=0100 Resp=0007
ResponseFrame 0D81 3C7B 0002 0000 0000 D8E1 0000 FF8F 0000 0001 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 7B3D 2896 79BC 2D81 801F 6488 EC4E 907C DBB3 711F 11AF 79DE 87F4 4F23 7AD6 4EAF 0000
Spinup Failure
ServoLoopCode=0x00002247

Here is entire firmware backup before head transplant including rom , we have changed PCB just to rule out pcb or rom issue.
but everything has failed. Unfortunately Ace tech support is on holiday till 8th jan.
Can someone pls. help.
Here is download link of entire firmware backup

Thanks

It sounds like there is media damage under H1.

hi ddrecovery
Thanks , so this has nothing to do with rom? because there is no visible damage and if donor heads put back in donor they work fine.

Hi .
just try to swap and see, paitent heads to donor. If it is working fine, you can get an idea.

+1 for H1 media damage. Go for file system meta and get mision critical files first.

Thank you guys for all the help.
Is it possible that only platter covered by Head 1 is damaged ? Because the imaging with other head is smooth with data transfer speed of aprox. 53mb /sec.
In fact 50% disk is already imaged as well.
We have tried what Dananjaya has suggested , patient heads behave exactly same in donor indicating there was definate issue with Head 1.
We have changed PC ,multiple heads , there are no visible scracthes on platter , no SA damage still data inaccessible.
Only issue could be servo markers cannot be read properly but I dont know how to check or work with servo.

With this description there is an option in MRT, DFL or Sediv to adjust heads for better reading, unfortunately PC3000 is lacking this option.

you have MRT, DFL or Sediv, we can try something, but only if drive is in detection and reading with errors on Head 1.

Its unbelievable to have something even flagship pc3000 is lacking.
I dont have any of these tools ecvept pc3000 . But after reading your post I am curious about sediv .If it is good for cloning then that will be added feature.Whats price of sediv for seagate is it software / hardware. hows update policy , like perpetual or subscription based.

Sediv is only for repair, it does't have DE or anything. price is usd 350.
I believe PC3000 is focused on data recovery only, whereas these other tools have added options for refurbish or repair purpose.

Yes post head transplant there are changes in terminal , its like this --
Boot 0x10M
FAIL Servo Op=0100 Resp=0007
ResponseFrame 0D21 3C64 FFFF 0000 0000 D922 0000 FF90 0000 0001 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 7B3D 2896 79BC 2D81 801F 6488 EC4E 907C DBB3 711F 11AF 79DE 87F4 4F23 7AD6 4EAF 0000
FAIL Servo Op=0100 Resp=0007
ResponseFrame 0D81 3C7B 0002 0000 0000 D8E1 0000 FF8F 0000 0001 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 7B3D 2896 79BC 2D81 801F 6488 EC4E 907C DBB3 711F 11AF 79DE 87F4 4F23 7AD6 4EAF 0000
Spinup Failure <<<<<<<<<<<< What spinup failure means
ServoLoopCode=0x00002247

Its not that I cant copy anything at all , I can read sectors but with lots of read errors and at very low speed.

Get what you can.
