Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts
May 4th, 2020, 9:36
Hello,
The drive in topic is asking for password, while the customer said he didn't put any passwords.
It's USB 2 drive with initio encryption.
I have converted to SATA and the drive physically perfect.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Sector 976769032 and module 25 are fully matched.
When converted to SATA, MRT says : The generated DEK is invalid, please confirm whether wrong password is input.

There is a password. Probably customer put it awhile back and set to remember by his OS , and never use it after.
BTW there is also 3d place of key sector stored in U14

Yeah I know about U14 and I have read it via programmer and I will post it tomorrow when I get to the office.
Btw the customer is actually my friend.
He swear that he didn't put any passwords.
Thanks a lot for trying to help Me. Vlad.
