hi guys, today I got a really bizarre case. An old maxtor 7200.10 ST3160815A the hard drive has fallen and when you try to start it you will hear a repetitive vibration not a click. I therefore checked that everything was in order and since I had a donor I replaced the heads, nothing done, same vibration and the disc in bsy, the donor with the patient's heads works. So I thought about a motor problem "maybe it twisted" I then swapped the dishes, put the patient's plate on the donor and vice versa, result, the donor on the patient works while the patient on the donor always has a repetitive sound. I have no more ideas has anyone already addressed this problem?

Did you try to load a loader and attempt to boot the drive, before doing all that?

I answer myself, after many months of failure, today I had an intuition, and what if it was a spindle balancing problem? Well, I disassembled the 3 screws of the spindle and I moved one place the stop that holds the platter, I reassembled everything and started the disc, nothing was still wrong, I removed the disc again and I moved the stop once again of a position plate, EUREKA, I am now copying the data! I hope that someone can help
