Hi!

the HD (SATA) cannot be read anymore by my PC and by a notebook (via adaptor).
When connected, it starts beeping faintly every 3 seconds. No click can be heard.
The possible source of troubles was a brief power failure that forced a restart of the PC.
Can it be stiction or the spindle motor somehow stuck?
HD is from 2013 so not worth recovery (???).

What do you think?

Thanks

heads are probably stuck.
What to recommend...
If you care about the data: contact a pro (https://forum.hddguru.com/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=6483),
if not, try screwing it up yourself watching videos.

Yesterday I got a seagate 7200.12 500 GB hard disk , disk was having late detection. I was able to copy MFT's and though disk was showing defects it was reading data. I cleaned PCB contacts and erased smart , Unfortunately now disk is locked in BUSY state and is getting spin down. I have taken resources backup at 2 locations but system files & firmware modules did not appear in list while writing system files so I could not restore disk to original state .NO HOST FIS started apprearing on terminal.
I admit I have made mistake in erasing smart in hurry .With this I want to ask whether erasing NRG and ALT list is technically right or I will have to manually add detects in G list first and then regenerate translator ?
Can someone pls. give me sequence of process for dealing with seagate drives --
1) Which system files to backup and modify
2) How to identify translator issue and change RAP CAP settings
3) What is reason for disk getting BUSY.
4) I cant read rom in many cases in both ways - first it says DT not found and in second method it cant read rom is there any command set to read rom from terminal or any alternate method to read rom.
5) Difference between regenerate translator and recover transalator.
