Basically I'm just looking to get a 2-3Tb HDD. I currently have 1 x 250gb m.2 SSD for my OS and programs, 1x 480gb 2.5" SSD for my common games, then 1x 1tb HDD and 1x 500gb HDD. I bought the HDDs a couple years ago used and before they go out aid like to consolidate/replace them with something newer. I'm fine with an HDD over a SSHD or SSD mostly because I want to keep cost down and speed isn't too important for these tasks. Anyone have good/bad experiences with any specific brands?

Go with HGST drives.

Sometimes you will see them branded as Western Digital (since WD has bought HGST).
For example, HMS5C4040ALE640 (for 4TB drive).
AVOID SEAGATE.

Northwind, agreed about Seagate currently being problematic. Do you remember the days of old when Seagate drives for desktops were the heaviest and best built all around?

Sure. About 20 years ago. Since then, they have evolved their drives into being great doorstoppers.
