• 3 V port (VCC(A)): 1.5 V to 3.6 V
• 5 V port (VCC(B)): 1.5 V to 5.5 V

control signals are described as 2.7-5.5, which means #OE and DIR pins i guess.
It is confusing though that input levels are given at
Low: 0-0.7(0.

High: 1.7- for Vcc=2.3-2.7V on channel A

But I had 2 more ROMS (One from my dad and another one I ordered from Aliexpress) and they were read perfectly with no issues.

probably a loose contact inside the rom chip itself from the pin to the die. it intermittently cuts off and on giving you the readings you have. Its only a guess though..

That could be. There was a "pin/leg" that was reaaaaaaaaaaally weak. When I started with all of this I had no idea how to desolder and I messed up some pins.
