 Post subject: Cannot open chkdsk in D:

I just looked up the online answer to check drive D.
Crystal Disl sees the drive D:
But issuing the command chkdsk d: /f
gives an error 'Cannot open volume for direct access'

In all other things the HD has taken format and operating system install.
