There are many sellers on aliexpresss or shopee selling fake external HDD, inside the case there is no HDD but a microsd or USB flash drive, some show the brand name of the HDD on crystaldiskinfo but it is fake

Is there any software that reveals whether what is inside the case is an HDD or flash memory? without needing to open the case?

what procedure to follow? Plug the external HDD into the PC's USB and open this software? If it detects flash, is it not a legitimate HDD?
