Even if the Smart and firmware have been changed, the only test that will reveal the true condition of the HDD (badblocks and errors) is the speed test? Does Victoria have this test?

I still haven't received the Kesu brand external HDD purchased on aliexpress

You are buying stuff from a very sketchy source and you want reliability???

No, you will never get that, no mater what kind of testing you do. Just go and buy a new one, from a place where you can go if the drive goes bad and ask for warranty, and always, have a BACKUP!!!

I don't know, many people bought Kesu external HDD on Aliexpress and there are no complaints

but I thought, if they changed the firmware and Smart to not show badblocks is there any test or software to reveal the true condition of the HDD in relation to badblocks and failures?

I made the mistake of buying this HDD on aliexpress and I think I'm going to throw it in the trash because I can't test it for good archiving and they changed the firmware on the smart
