This drive seems to initialize but has errors at every sector. Is there a firmware fix that can be done for this drive?

This drive is a native HGST model with new firmware architecture.

Is this supported by the pc3k? If so, which family is it?

Very few people know how to access and fix fw of this drive, they keep it as secret.
PC3000 doesn't support it!

I think this is the corresponding HGST family (same PCB):

These drives initialize from PCB only (with correct model name and full capacity).
It is important to understand if it is actually a FW problem.
If the drive calibrates (this drive has a long and distinct calibration sound, you can't miss it) then it is likely FW problem.
If the drive does not calibrate then it's either bad heads or media damage.

For FW you can outsource it to us - https://thedigilab.com/enquiry.html
