I recently bought a HUH721212ALE601 drive and it started throwing smart errors. I have a 2nd one and am hoping to make sure firmware is up to date on it. Can anyone help point me to the correct file as well as the utility to flash?
I assume this will not wipe the drive correct?
My drive is a WD HUH721212ALE601 and on firmware LEGL0002 (which I can't find anywhere) so it seems sus.
Thanks for any assistance!

Oh and it is a "recertified" drive, but shouldn't matter for firmware.

I don't know what an "LHC drive" is.

Label says fw is 3d0, i guess early this drive has standard oem fw, you could try update it with LEGNXB01

Were you ever able to get this updated? I just bought several of these drives and am having the same issues. (Hugo 7.4.5 in windows)

No, never got the firmware to take.

I have two of these drives also (HUH721212ALE601) with firmware LEGL0002. I bought them from Amazon UK from GoHardDrive. I have been unsuccessful using hugo and sg3-utils (sg_write_buffer) to flash it with any other firmware including LEGNXB01 (which appears to be the latest) and LEGNXU09.
As an aside, I was successful using Hugo 7.4.5 (in Ubuntu 22.04) in changing the block size from 512 to 4096. I obtained Hugo deb file from:
