Title says it all really.

Using Windows 11. Trying to take a drive back to factory state - currently has NTFS structure on it.

Taken the drive offline to remove any locks and now getting the message 'Format Error at offset xxx: 19- The media is write protected' for every sector when I do LOW-LEVEL FORMAT.

Am I being stupid? Any pointers gratefully received. Many TIA.

OS does not allow to write to offline drive.
