Hi everybody! I've got about 10 HDD's of N40P but there PCBA's were exchanged. Could you help me to find out the right pairs of HDA and PCBA. The models are:
6E040L0510614 KGCA ; 6E020L0510202 KGBA ; 6E040L0510214 KGGA ;6E040L0510253 KGGA ;6E040L0510605 KMCA ; 6E040L0510633 KMCA . The PCBA's are B8FEA, B4FEA, B6FEB and B4FEP1.

N40P is not so fussy, so you can start with any board
on a drive - if it works and you can read SA - then

You can run a program MxHelp - on zirochka - and this
will identify the IDE label that is supposed to be fitted
to the working drive - voila !!

let`s don`t forget something:!!!
the same model of the hda but different PCB models !
don`t say the same PCB model but other Revision!
what about that?

why do humans like to complicate things ?

put any PCB ! rewrite the flash according the HDA KMCA,KMBA,KGGA etc and that`s all !

OK. Give me the respective files for HDA KMCA,KMBA,KGGA etc
What do these letters mean? Are they more important then the model numbers? Are there any rules to match the HDA's and the PCBA's for this model?

I don't know what Gustav is doing, but...

I assume you can read SA and as I said take any board
and if it reads SA and if you don't know how to use MxHelp..

Do this .....

Read module 46600004 and look at offset 028Ch (Winhex)
here you will read a number like B8FED - this is the IDE label
as it is written in the SA.

Look at all your pcb's and fit the one which matches this number
from your collection.

In this way you will certainly match all pcb's to all drives correctly.

If you cannot read 46600004 you can find the same number (IDE Label)
at :

02BF0001 offset 0158h

I didn't mean you Mr. Pinto. You've never been helpfull. I meant people like fujimax, spairo, valera, etc. Smart guys willing to help others. Thanks to all of them :)

but the question is .his hdd cann't run normal . how to read the 46600004 or 02BF0001? the 6E040L0 usual use B8*** and the 6e020l0 use B4 or B6***.you must try it one by one.
