I have a Maxtor 98196H8, which spins OK and does not make any click noises etc. However it does not aquire in the BIOS or on PC3K.

I have tried replacing the controller card with one from an identical drive but this makes no difference.

Does any one now of any common faults for the diamondMax 80 range or for this particular model or have experience of overcoming this fault.

I would appreciate any infomation and advice.

Since DiamondMax 80 is not anoriginal supported model in pc3k, i ask you what utility have you tried to use ad what leds are on/off when you start the utility?
