hi all
i've this western digital with firmware 15.15M15 that crashed suddenly , i run MHDD 4.5 from hiren's cd and when i did erase test the answer was a broken drive , so i've started to scan with erase-wait , then remap and finally i got an error free drive , but the problem is i can't partition the drive or format it .
microsoft fdisk claim none drive integrity and format clain bad track zero
even when i tried to partition the drive using other non-dos utilities and try to format it within win-xp , the format reach 100% and then got an error message that can't writ file allocation table (fat) .. any idea?
thanks in advance

Try it in a different computer, w/ a different model of motherboard. You can also try a FASTERASE on it (read the MHDD online manual). If the problem persists on a different computer, replace it.

hi,
- run program check_WD for test Sa modules.
- look at WWW for this file or http://nazyura.newmail.ru/

IniOvl.bin (InitDrvParamOvl)

I understand head0 and head1 only :D

IniOvl.bin (InitDrvParamOvl) - is it the name of the module ?

Most likely SA (head 0) is phisically damaged since the skew tables are read-only. I think this drive is not repairable.

Bullshit.
The drive needs repairing G-List and SMART modules. It can be done as friend told before. If it doesn't help will need to rewrite them from the working drive and clear afterwards.
