I notice that Salvation data's scematic and the other schematic available on this site for Seagate terminal access are different. Am I missing something? Anyone have ideas on english documentation and software. I notice that the Russians and Chinese seem to be on the bleeding edge of this technology. Any hope for english speakers?

While I haven't looked at both schematics, I don't think there will be anything magical about an RS-232-to-TTL converter - Either it works, or it doesn't. There are a few chips available to do this, the MAX323 being the most popular nowadays. There might be minor changes to accomodate different drives, and schematics may vary depending on the person (And the mood of the person) designing the circuit.
