i need some advice or suggestion here. my friend has 40gb Maxtor & not detect. so i do the process to make it detect & success. i've checked the bad sector & cleaned it in MHDD and i try to format it. all ok & then i pass it to her.a few days a go she gave it back to me & said blue screen appeared. so now i need to know what cause of the blue screen problem because when i check back i found error in module.

Most likely the drive is dying ... Either bad head or surface. The bad sectors are filling the limits of the G-List causing typical Maxtor firmware curruption ...
Just a guess.
Go buy a new hard drive.
By the way, what modules are damaged, what's the moddel of the drive and what tool are you using to fix it ?
