 Post subject: Seagate ST380011A jumped straight to F>

I have a Seagate ST380011A, stays "BSY" with terminal "Error Reading Reserve track"
I exchanged the head and now i got a message
"Application code incompatible with serial flash code"

Any ideas what is wrong guys? Thank you.

yes, it wont work, i'm having a headache now :D I suspect the head is not compatible with the pcb.

what did u matched while changing head. I have seen few time that we have to match Config also in this particular model. Mostly it is Compatible. but some time u need to match + FW and Site Code.

thats correct DF, I matched Config code, site code and FW and now working but not smooth lots of bad sectors, but at least it is working.

Hello friend

Try to read ROM from u patient HDD and program again on a Donnor PCB that´s App code on cylinder´s its not matching App Code on Serial ROM

If i am correct this model does not have ROM.
