:!: Hello there:

I have a problem with my old maxtor HDD Maxtor 6Y080M0, originaly it had 2 partitions of same size and installed win xp in one of them, after a restart the 1st. partition became file system "unknown" and after that i've tried every thing possible but the disk manager say's disk is "illegible" and i've lost the other partition. And now the disk is recognized as basic but no partitions reported.

I used the hddscan tool and it reports bad block found in all LBA entries and the Hard Disk Low Level format tool doesn't do anything, say's format error ocurred at offset # and the device details says: internal error. plase post it in forums of HDDguru and i am here.

So any one can help me i love my disk and the data too.

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

If you love your data, dont use a low level format tool, or everything will be wiped forever.
This seems to me a firmware problem that can only be solved with the right tools.
Send this disk to a pro if you want your data back.

Best regards,

Dobre

You have to replace correct MOD# to the SA. Then Your hdd will back to correct state.
