hi

guys recently i have a problem with my harddisk (western digital 500 GB internal)...

it give sound when i turn it on(the computer start)... it gives a sound of Click Click Click"" 3times, and then it turn off... it won't work. and i have many folders and files on it...

guys i really need to access to that hard drive... i heared and i read over the net that this thing called "Click Of Death"... that's ok if the drive will not work, but i hope that there is a way to recover the data from the drive...

i'm waiting for an answer....

Your WD drive could have a bad logic board, or more likely, mechanical failure such as bad heads.

It needs the services of a pro to recover and if it is not the logic board, it will not be cheap. Typical range for this repair is $1500 - 2500.

When disk spins up, clicks few time and then powers down, it is sign of failed preamp ar heads.



This type of repair considered to be very difficult even for a pro.

I would suggest to do a research, and determine a reliable firm which will not overcharge you for a service.
